What sets us apart?

The Better Bakery is the only bakery of its kind! Not only are we the one and only dedicated gluten-free, vegan space in Chattanooga, but we are also completely dedicated wheat-free, oat-free, dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free, free of artificial flavours and dyes, largely organic, and health-based! It takes a lot of science to create something like this completely from scratch, while making products that you would never believe are made with any dietary restrictions at all. It’s a good thing our founder is a scientist by trade! Her passions for health, creativity and innovation have driven The Better Bakery to pioneer this path of combining science and art to create desserts that not only have a better taste and texture than normal desserts, but that also leave you feeling better, all while making this accessible to a more inclusive audience so you can have beautiful, feel-good desserts, dietary restrictions or not.

There are pre-packaged gluten-free or vegan items that you can find in many grocery stores, but these often leave much to be desired, and they are usually packed with a bunch of unhealthy fillers to make up for the lack of “normal” ingredients. There is also a major lack of places where you can obtain freshly baked and custom made desserts that fit even one of the dietary restrictions that we cover. Even within places that claim that that they can cater to these dietary restriction on the side, there are constant cases of mislabeling and cross-contamination. We knew that there could be something better. So we created a dedicated space, and we spent years, creating recipes completely from scratch until we ended up with desserts that fool people ALL THE TIME.

People are sometimes reluctant to try our items, and rightly so! As previously stated, so many of the dietary-inclusive desserts out there leave much to be desired. But time after time, our customers come back to tell us things like, “This was literally the best cake I have ever had in my life! And I don’t even have any dietary restrictions! I got the cake for my boyfriend who can’t have gluten,” and, "None of the guests at my wedding had any idea that the wedding cake was made in a dietary-inclusive way, and I had so many people telling me that it was the best cake that they have ever had in their life," and, “My daughter has not been able to have cake in years, she was just so happy to have cake at all, but the cake was WAY beyond the quality that we thought she could ever have! It was a million times better than the regular cake that we got for everyone else.” and, “I have never felt so good after eating a dessert. I usually feel kind of gross and heavy after eating a dessert, but I never feel like that after eating something from The Better Bakery. You know that it is made with wholesome ingredients."
